The 3rd and 4th quarter Fiscal Year 2022 Real Estate and Personal Property Tax bills were mailed out on December 31, 2021. The 3rd quarter bills are due February 1st and 4th quarter’s bills are due May 2nd.

Questions regarding the assessed value of your property, abatements/exemptions or address/owner changes should be directed to the Assessors at (978) 544-5814 or newsalemassessor@outlook.com. Assessment information and abatement forms can be found on the Assessors’ page.

For the quickest response to questions about paying your bill, email the Tax Collector at newsalemtax@gmail.com. You can also leave a message for the Collector at (978) 544-5775. Be sure to include your name, phone number or email, and the address of your property.

To search for your Real Estate bill by last name or street, go to www.unitaxonline.com. You can use this feature whether or not you will be paying the bill online.

To make online payments using a credit card, debit card, or bank payment, go to www.unitaxonline.com.

Non-cash payments may be deposited in the Tax Payment drop box located in front of the Town Hall at 15 S. Main St. or mailed to the Tax Collector, 24 S. Main St., New Salem, MA 01355. You can use money orders or postal orders in place of cash. Cash payments (exact change, please) may be made during the Tax Collector’s office hours at 24 S. Main Street on Thursdays 10am-Noon.
