The Selectboard Reviewed and Signed the Following:
Vendor & Payroll Warrants—Final FY13 Warrant and the first FY14 Warrant
Application to register with the Department of Public Utilities to receive an Entity ID number (Done at the
request of Seaboard Solar)
Cathy Jones noted the next FRCOG Council meeting was scheduled for July 18th at 5:30 pm; she plans to attend.
The addition of locks to the second floor of the Old Academy Building was discussed. The request to install
these locks was made by the New Salem Academy Trustees in order to safeguard items they will be storing there.
An email from Jean Derderian of the Historical Commission noted the locks would need to be approved by the
Commission, but she felt this would not be a problem. The Selectboard indicated they had no problem with the
locks being installed (pending approval from the Historical Commission), but they did ask that the Fire Chief
be contacted for his approval as well. Nancy Aldrich will pass this request along to both the Trustees and the
The Board reviewed minutes from June 24th. Cathy Jones had several corrections to make. Nancy Aldrich will
make the changes before the next meeting, and they will be signed at that point.
The Board voted unanimously to accept Orange Oil as low bidder for next year’s fuel contract; their bid was $3.25
per gallon for fuel, and $50 per hour maintenance.
Appointment slips were distributed to Cathy and Wayne.
They discussed the re-appointment of John Dolan as Gas Inspector, but decided to wait until the next meeting to
make a decision.
The Board requested that Tom Swan be invited to the next meeting to update them on Highway Department
activities, including progress on Neilson Road.
Andy Hamilton met with the Board to voice his concern about the Conservation Commission. He needs some
documents from them, but claims they have not met since June and no meeting has yet been posted for July. He
noted the Commission had verbally amended a Cease and Desist order, but he had not seen it in writing. Wayne
agreed to speak with a member of the Con Comm to see what he could find out.
